William was born in Stratford, Connecticut, and was the son of the late Walter and Marjorie (Horrica) Stens.
William dedicated much of his life to service, proudly serving in the Air Force for 23 years before retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was honored to be a Vietnam Veteran and served his country with distinction. During his service in the Air Force, he earned several awards and certificates, with the Air Force Achievement Medal standing out as one of his proudest distinctions.
