
1940 - 2026
Born on October 2, 1940, in Boston, he was the son of the late Arthur and Hazel (Cutlip) Call. Bill was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (Stallone) Call.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an Aviation Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class (AFM2) from 1958 to 1962. As a Petty Officer stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, he played an important role in maintaining, repairing, and overhauling jet engines to support naval flight operations. The discipline and technical skills he developed during his service remained a lifelong source of pride.
Following his military service, Bill built a distinguished career as a Microwave Electrical Engineer, working for companies including Neico Microwave Company/Epsco and Raytheon. He developed specialized expertise in RF waveguide design and held four patents for his work. Among his proudest professional accomplishments was contributing to equipment used in the Apollo space capsules.
Bill is survived by his children, Karen L. Ward and her husband Michael, William M. Call, Kristine Daebler and her husband Michael, and Timothy Call and his wife Hillary. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Anne McElwee, John Stallone, James Stallone, and Michelle Stallone; his sister, Rita Quirk; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his many stories.
He was predeceased by his stepson, Albert Stallone, as well as his six siblings: Arthur Call, Eileen Kushmerek, Lawrence Call, Joseph Call, Robert Call, and Mary Murphy.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water Street in Milford, followed by a funeral home service. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
