Born on January 16, 1948, in Norwood, Walter was the son of the late Walter A. and Ruth (Holmes) Sanders. A longtime Milford resident, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, serving for three years.
Following his military service, Walter built a career at Fenwal, where he worked for many years before retiring.
Walter is survived by his sisters, Beverly Eisner of Henniker, New Hampshire, Karen Timpany of Mansfield, and Hazel Irene Mela of Medway. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Janice Kinsman.
Funeral services will be private at the request of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home.
