Timothy James Clancy, 61, of Whitinsville
1964 - 2025

Timothy was the beloved husband of Karen Clancy, to whom he was married for 28 years; the cherished son of Lurleen Clancy of Acton, MA, and the late William Clancy; and the devoted brother of Kevin Clancy and his wife Margaret of Acton, MA; Christopher Clancy of South Boston, MA; Suzanne Burke and her husband Daniel of Rowley, MA; Patrick Clancy and his wife Melissa of Medfield, MA; Brian Clancy and his wife Torie of Ross, CA; and Kathleen Stodden and her husband David of Laconia, NH.

Known as the “fun uncle,” Tim had a gift for connecting with children. He created countless memories with his 20 nieces and nephews, never hesitating to kneel down in the sand, pick up a fishing rod, toss a ball, or join in their imaginative adventures. His gentle spirit and genuine warmth made him a beloved presence throughout the family.

Born and raised in Holliston, MA, Tim attended Marian High School in nearby Framingham, where he developed into an exceptional cross-country runner—setting multiple school and state records, achievements he cherished quietly throughout his life.

Tim’s early career reflected his love of the outdoors. He worked as a landscape designer and installer at Weston Nurseries in Hopkinton, MA, before beginning a long and dedicated 28-year career at Verizon in Boston, where he was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to lend a helping hand.

A man who appreciated life’s simple rhythms, Tim found joy in kayaking, fishing, walking, cross-country skiing, golfing, gardening (he could cite the Latin name of virtually every plant), playing darts, cribbage and spending quiet moments with his beloved cat, Cosmo. He was also a lifelong admirer of Bruce Springsteen—music that energized and inspired him throughout the years.

Those who knew Tim will remember him for his steady presence, compassionate heart, and quiet acts of generosity. He carried his love for family, nature, and music into every corner of his life.
