
1966 - 2026
Born in Natick on November 29, 1966, Spud was the son of Sarah M. (Loftus) Wardwell of Hopkinton and the late Albert J. Wardwell. He was raised in Medway, where he spent much of his life and built lasting friendships throughout the community.
Spud dedicated many years to working for local construction companies and dairy farms. Over the course of his career, he worked for Paul Wilson at Red Gate Farm and Michael Lobisser at Rocky Hill Farm before finishing his working years alongside Matt Fasolino at Medway Mulch and Loam. Known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a hand, he earned the respect of coworkers and friends wherever he worked.
In addition to his mother, Spud is survived by his son, Steven Wardwell of Arizona; his longtime companion, Roberta Bryant of Milford; and her son, Robert.
He is also survived by his brothers, Albert Wardwell of Medway and Donald Wardwell and his partner Sharon Bertone of Bellingham. He leaves behind his nieces and nephew, Joseph Wardwell, Christina Leavenworth, and Jennifer Truit; his beloved sister-in-law, Debra Wardwell; as well as many cousins and extended family members.
Spud will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his loyalty to family and friends, and the many connections he made throughout his life in the Medway and Milford communities.
