Sterling Blanchard Hager Jr., 74, of Hopkinton
1952 - 2026

Born in Framingham, Sterling was the son of the late Annie (Granberg) Hager and Sterling Blanchard Hager Sr. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Murphy) Costa of Hopkinton.

A graduate of Boston University with a degree in Journalism, Sterling began his career writing for the Middlesex News before founding the Sterling Hager Corporation, an advertising company that eventually expanded to California and England.

Sterling was a man of many talents and interests. He was an accomplished pianist, an avid reader, and had a lifelong appreciation for the arts. He also enjoyed tending to flower gardens and especially cherished his nightly 7 PM games of Scrabble with his sister, Betty.

In addition to his wife, Sterling is survived by his siblings, Dennis Hager of New Hampshire, Susan Wood of North Carolina, and Betty Wyckoff of Hopkinton. He was predeceased by his sister, Christine Williams.

Private family services are being held under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home.
