1944 - 2026
Rosie was known for her larger-than-life personality, booming laugh, unwavering honesty, and fierce loyalty to those she loved. Beneath her tough exterior was a woman with a generous heart who always had time for others. Whether someone stopped by her home or her office, they could count on finding a fresh pot of coffee, a listening ear, and often a heartfelt conversation.
For many years, Rosie served as office manager at Joe's Garage, where customers often joked it was less of a repair shop and more "Rosie's Coffee Shop." She welcomed everyone with homemade iced coffee, conversation, and friendship, turning customers into lifelong friends. Earlier in her career, she worked transporting patients at Milford Hospital, where her caring nature earned the affection of those she looked after. She later worked at Hopedale Gardens Nursing Home, where she was able to keep a close eye on her father, Joseph Ferrelli.
Rosie is survived by her fiancé, Joseph L. Castellano of Mendon; her son, Mark R. Lamothe of Radcliff, Kentucky; her daughter, Christina Lamothe Slattery and her husband, Jim, of Mendon; her grandchildren, David J. Lamothe, Rayna M. Slattery, Christopher J. "Big Guy" Slattery, and Thea C. Slattery; and her treasured great-granddaughter, Demi Rose Lamothe. She also leaves behind her lifelong childhood friend, Patricia Morrill Smith; her sister-in-law, Kathleen Ferrelli; many nieces and nephews, including Donna Dusz, Brenda Berardi, Jason Ferrelli, and Lynette Mowry and her husband, Skip; along with countless friends whose lives she touched over the years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph P. Ferrelli and Alba C. (Deruvo) Ferrelli, her brothers, Robert "Bobby" Ferrelli and Joseph "Junnie" Ferrelli, and her beloved dog, Blossom.
Rosie will be remembered for her bright red nail polish, unmistakable laugh, colorful language, unique sense of style, fierce loyalty, and the countless conversations, laughter, and memories she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.
Her family also extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Countryside Health Care in Milford for the compassion, dignity, respect, and love they showed Rosie throughout her care.
In keeping with Rosie's wishes, there will be no wake or funeral.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Italian Vets at Hayward Field in Milford.
Rosie asked that she be remembered the way she lived—loud, animated, fiercely loyal, unapologetically herself, and always surrounded by the people she loved.
