1947 - 2026
Rick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn; his two sons; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his brother, David, all of whom will carry his memory forward.
Rick and Carolyn were married in 1968 and shared many wonderful years together, building a life filled with family and cherished memories in California and Oregon.
In 2024, Rick and Carolyn made the difficult decision to leave behind many dear friends in Oregon and move to Massachusetts to be closer to their family on the East Coast. They made the Highlands in Westborough their new home, where Rick spent his final years surrounded by the comfort of family and the friendship of many new neighbors.
Rick will be remembered most for the love he had for his family and the happiness he found in his favorite interests, particularly trains and Legos. He treasured the memories he created with the many people who were fortunate enough to know him.
Although Rick will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort knowing he is now at peace, reunited with his parents and sister and resting with the Lord.
A brief public service will be held on Wednesday, August 19th, at Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, located at 45 Main Street in Upton.
Family will greet relatives and friends from 3:30 to 4:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 4:00 to 4:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be considered for either of the following organizations:
