1943 - 2026
From an early age, Randy was known for his strong work ethic, delivering newspapers, working at Dadah's Market in Worcester, and serving as a clerk at the Triple S stamp store. He earned an associate degree in civil engineering from Quinsigamond Community College, then known as Worcester Junior College, before continuing his education at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, then Bradford Durfee College of Technology, where he met the love of his life, Susan (Silva). The couple married on August 26, 1965, and shared 61 years together.
Soon after marrying, Randy enlisted in the United States Army. Although initially ordered to Vietnam, he was reassigned to Korea, where he served during the Korean DMZ Conflict in a specialized Ranger unit. During his military service, he earned the rank of Sergeant in just two years and became affectionately known as "Sgt. Dad" by fellow soldiers and commanding officers alike.
Following his military service, Randy worked as a civil engineer before beginning a distinguished career with the United States Postal Service in Northborough. As a rural carrier, master field trainer, union steward, instructor, and president of the District 4 Rural Letter Carriers' Association, he helped develop a rural carrier training program that was eventually adopted nationwide and made lasting contributions to postal employee safety and training.
Never one to slow down, Randy later managed several retail locations for Leslie's after retirement, earning Rookie of the Year honors while in his 70s.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Randy loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed camping adventures that evolved from tent camping to family trips to Disney World and cherished relaxing under the family canopy at Ogunquit Beach with his beloved wife, Susan.
In addition to his wife, Susan, Randy is survived by his children, Kimberly Dadah and Dave Dadah; and his devoted niece, Lauri Yusko.
He was predeceased by his parents, Miriam (Bilodeau) Dadah and Francis Dadah, and his siblings, Bruce Dadah and Lynn Nantz.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 24th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main Street, Westborough.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 25th at 10:00 PM in the Veterans Grove section of Pine Grove Cemetery.
