Pravin Mohanlal Trivedi, 82, of Shrewsbury
1943 - 2026

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jashvanti “Jashu” Trivedi, along with his children, Hitesh Trivedi and his wife Suzanne Kriegsman, and Anjana Trivedi and her husband Charles Heller III. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Kavita, Jay, Neelam, and Avni, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members around the world.

Born in Rajkot, India, on April 27, 1943, Pravin’s life was shaped by international experiences and a deep curiosity about the world. At the age of four, his family relocated to Sudan, where he attended the Omdurman Indian School founded by his father. He later moved to England to study engineering in college, where he met his wife and lifelong partner, Jashu.

In 1970, Pravin and Jashu immigrated to the United States with their infant son and eventually made Massachusetts their home, living in Springfield, Westborough, and Shrewsbury over the years. A talented electrical engineer, Pravin built a long and impactful career working with companies such as Standard Electric Time, Digital Equipment Corporation, and Quantum. His work helped advance technology ranging from precision clocks and fire alarm systems to disk and tape drive development.

Later in life, he followed his passion for education, teaching science and mathematics at Bellingham and Millbury High Schools and sharing his knowledge with the next generation.

Pravin was known for his dynamic personality and wide range of interests. He enjoyed writing, volunteering, and often served as the Audio/Visual expert for community organizations. He had a love for music that ranged from Indian classical to jazz, and he was famously baking sourdough bread long before it became popular.

He especially cherished time with his family — whether it was traveling the world with his wife, helping friends with projects, sharing jokes, enjoying a glass of scotch with friends, cooking mac and cheese for his grandchildren, or gathering with loved ones. Known to many as “the best uncle,” Pravin will be remembered for his warmth, intellect, humor, and devotion to those around him.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, March 19th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
