1928 - 2026
A lifelong native of Suncook, Odelva was known for her devotion to family, strong work ethic, and caring spirit. She was the daughter of the late Lefebvre family and remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her life.
On March 28, 1949, she married Robert A. Janelle of Manchester, New Hampshire. Together they built a loving family until Robert's passing from lung cancer in 1972. On November 16, 1973, she married Auckland D. Geddes of Manchester. Odelva devoted herself to caring for Auckland throughout his lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease, lovingly supporting him for more than a decade until his passing in 2009.
Professionally, Odelva worked as a bookkeeper for Plywood Wholesale and later for the Union Leader, where she was respected for her dedication, professionalism, and attention to detail.
She loved watching sports of every kind, but baseball and football held a special place in her heart. A lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, she remained an enthusiastic supporter of her favorite teams throughout her life.
Above all, Odelva cherished her family. She was predeceased by her husbands, Robert A. Janelle and Auckland D. Geddes, and by her beloved daughter, Elaine Janelle Lindberg Sakelarios.
She is survived by her son, David R. Janelle and his wife, Sandra M. (Hill) Janelle, of Mendon; her son-in-law, William Sakelarios of Clarkdale, Arizona; her granddaughters, Megan R. Janelle of North Attleboro and Molly B. Janelle of Merrimack, New Hampshire; her grandson, Joshua Lindberg and his wife, Kaitlyn, of Barrie, Ontario; three stepsons and one stepdaughter; along with several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jean Baptiste Church, followed by a Celebration of Life.
The date and time of the services will be announced at a later date.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, one of Odelva's favorite charities.
