Born in West New York, New Jersey, Nick was raised and educated there and was the son of the late Nicholas and Ellen (McDonald) Galeone.
Nick devoted 45 years of service to Milford Regional Medical Center before retiring. He began his career in facilities engineering and later transitioned into security, where he rose to the role of Head of Security, a position he held for the majority of his career. His dedication, reliability, and professionalism left a lasting impression on colleagues throughout the hospital.
Nick was a proud member of the Upton Grange and the Grafton Writers Club. He enjoyed a wide variety of interests, including playing billiards, bowling, dancing, restoring and admiring antique cars, and playing chess. An avid reader, he also loved to travel, with Italy and France holding a special place among his favorite destinations.
In addition to his wife Millie, Nick is survived by his daughter, Christina Galeone of Westborough; Millie’s children, Michael Lupachini, Sr. and his wife Angela of Upton, Marcia Sprague and her partner Dan Lutz of Addison, Maine, and Peter Lupachini and his partner Cesar Aguilera of Phoenix, Arizona. He was a devoted grandfather to Jeffrey, Dale, Michael, Jr., and Gina, and a proud great-grandfather to Jeffrey, Lilith, Kole, and Hunter. He is also survived by his devoted niece and caregiver, Kerri Cahill, along with many extended family members.
Nick was predeceased by his first wife of 41 years, Barbara (Jacobson) Galeone, who passed away in 2011, and by his sister, Margaret Galeone, who died in 1972.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 13, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main Street, Westborough. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Grafton, will take place privately with his family. All are welcome to join the Galeone family for a luncheon in St. Luke’s Parish Hall following the Mass.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. on Monday, January 12, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton.
