Maureen lived a life defined by curiosity, independence, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. An avid traveler, she fulfilled her dream of visiting all 50 states and explored numerous countries across four continents. A longtime member of the Sierra Club, she especially cherished hiking trips in the Pacific Northwest. She also had a lifelong love of birds and could identify most species simply by hearing their songs. Books were another constant joy in her life, and she was often found immersed in a story.
A graduate of St. Mary’s School in Milford, Maureen went on to build a rewarding 31-year career with W.L.M. Bensdorp Cocoa Company, an experience highlighted by attending the company’s 150th anniversary celebration in the Netherlands. After retirement, she relocated to Florida, where she remained active in her community and continued making road trips back to Massachusetts to visit family.
Family was at the center of Maureen’s world. She shared her adventurous spirit with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will last generations. She played an active and loving role in her grandchildren’s lives and took great pride in being present for their important milestones.
Maureen was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Constant Lussier, as well as her son David and daughter Muriel. She is survived by her daughter Roberta White of Upton, and her granddaughters Emily White of Boston and Rebekah Rosenberg of Hudson.
