1941-2025
A lifelong resident of Milford, Helen was the daughter of the late Arthur Brown and Mabel (McNeil) Brown. She was a woman of deep passion and determination—strong-willed, hardworking, and unafraid to face life’s challenges head-on. Helen’s love for animals, music, and dancing brought joy to her life and to those fortunate enough to share those moments with her. Her remarkable patience and gentle nature shone through in the special bonds she formed with her beloved pets—there was nothing she couldn’t teach them to do.
Helen is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Clifford K. Giroux; her daughter, MaryAnn Black, and her husband, James Black; and her cherished grandchildren, Benjamin and Kate. She also leaves behind many dear friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 20, at 12:00 p.m. at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford. Burial will follow in Vernon Grove Cemetery, Milford. A visiting hour will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund, a cause close to the family’s heart.
Helen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
