Mrs. Celie D. (MacDonald) Grove, 85, of Peabody
1940 - 2025

Born in St. Charles, IL, Celie was the daughter of the late John MacDonald and Mary (Coryn) MacDonald. She grew up in St. Charles and had resided in Peabody for the past three years; prior to that, she lived in Milford for fifty-six years.

Celie’s life reflected her passions—service to others, deep religious faith, and devotion to family. An accomplished artist, she painted in oil, watercolor, and charcoal. She loved gardening, cooking, and traveling, and was a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Milford.

She is survived by her children, Ann M. Ameliotis and her husband Loukas Ambeliotis of Peabody, MA, and John B. Grove and his wife Rachel Grove of Mountville, PA; and by her five grandchildren: Alexis M. Ambeliotis of Chelmsford, MA; Joanna M. Ambeliotis and her husband Ben of Lakewood, CO; Margaret G. “Maggie” Ambeliotis of Denver, CO; Max B. Grove and his husband Will of New York City, NY; and Mia J. Grove of Akron, PA.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford, MA, on a day and time to be announced. A private committal service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford will follow. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
