Born in Milford, Anne Marie was the daughter of the late Nicholas DiGirolamo and Anna Rose (Walden) Dixon. She attended Milford Public Schools and graduated from Milford High School.
As a young woman, Anne Marie worked at the former Milford National Bank. She later spent many years as a retail associate at Victory Supermarket in Uxbridge before working at Community Partnership in Milford.
Anne Marie grew up in Milford and lived in Bellingham from 1968 until 1980. She and Tim then made their home in Florida for nearly two decades before returning to Massachusetts and settling in Hopedale in 1999.
Above all else, Anne Marie’s greatest passion was her family. She loved caring for those closest to her and cooking favorite family meals, including gnocchi, pasta, and chicken cutlets. She especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.
Anne Marie loved trips to Cape Cod, where she spent many weekends relaxing on the beach with her feet in the sand. She also cherished time in New Hampshire, sitting on the deck overlooking the mountains or gathering around the fire pit. She enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino and attending live concerts, particularly performances by Travis Tritt and Bob Seger.
Family celebrations held a special place in Anne Marie’s heart. She loved a good party and could often be found as the first person on the dance floor, especially when she had the opportunity to dance with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Tim, Anne Marie is survived by her children, Jo-Ann Columbo and her husband, Joseph, of Douglas; Sharon DiGirolamo and her companion, Tony Edwards, of Douglas; Tony Giunta and his wife, Jennifer, of Douglas; Jeff Giunta of Hopedale; Tim Harrison and his wife, Terri, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Kim Harrison of Franklin; and Kerry Cardarelli and her husband, Tony, of Bellingham.
She also leaves her 16 grandchildren, Joey, Sharon, Justin, Lora, Rachael, Allyson, Andrea, Christy, Michelle, Aidan, Torynn, Taylor, Adam, Zach, Kaelyn, and Katy; and her nine great-grandchildren, Keyara, Daniel, Samantha, Mason, Maxwell, Angel, Avery, Luke, and Sunny.
Anne Marie is also survived by her siblings, Nicholas DiGirolamo and his wife, Sue, of Brewster; JoAnne DiRamio of Blackstone; and Linda Walden and her wife, Terry, of Arizona; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Lori Giunta; her grandson, Danny Columbo; her siblings, Marie Williams, Joseph DiGirolamo, and Barry Walden; and her stepmother, Frances Bosworth-DiGirolamo.
In accordance with Anne Marie’s wishes, cremation will take place.
Relatives and friends will be invited to extend their condolences to Anne Marie’s family at Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, located at 44 Congress Street in Milford, on a date and time to be announced.
A private graveside committal of her cremains will be held at Hopedale Village Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
