1941 - 2026
Born in Lynn, Wayne was the son of the late Herbert Small and Helen (Collins) Small. Following his graduation from high school, he began a lifelong career in the construction industry. A skilled union carpenter, he worked for many years through the carpenters' unions in Framingham and Boston. Throughout his life, Wayne also took great pride in building several of the homes in which he and his family lived.
Wayne grew up in Swampscott before living in Danvers and Framingham. He made Holliston his home from 1980 to 2001 before settling in Mendon, where he had lived since 2001. In his younger years, he enjoyed being an active member of the Boston Ski & Sports Club.
In addition to his wife, Bonnie, Wayne is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Lord and her husband, Jeff, of Newton, New Hampshire; his grandchildren, Kelsey Lord of Florida and Kyle Lord of Michigan; his sister, Jean Ryan of Gloucester; six nephews, Rick Ryan, Jeff Ryan, Todd Ryan, Dan Ryan, Colin Ryan, and David Ryan; and two nieces, Katie Ryan and Jillie Ryan.
He was predeceased by his stepchildren, Ricky Dotolo and Debbie Dotolo.
A Celebration of Wayne's Life will be held on Thursday, August 6th, at 12 PM at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, located at 44 Congress Street in Milford.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
