Mr. Ernest P. J. Rioux, 80, of Milford
1946 - 2026

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, Ernest was the son of the late Leo D. Rioux and Bertha (Pelletier) Rioux. He attended Windham Technical High School in Willimantic, Connecticut, and later graduated from Don Bosco High School in Boston.

Following high school, Ernest proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966, specializing in electronics and computers.

After his military service, Ernest built a long and successful career in the electronics and computer industry. He worked in sales and marketing for Data Terminal Systems (DTS) and later for Alarm Computer Technology, XePix Inc., and BMI Traffic Analysis Systems. During his professional career, he attended Harvard Business School, where he earned certification in Executive Education.

Even after his formal retirement, Ernest enjoyed staying active and continued working at Home Depot and Lowe’s, where he took great pleasure in helping customers with their home projects.

Ernest was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan who also loved playing softball. He enjoyed gardening and was well known for his sense of humor and playful personality, often delighting family and friends with jokes and lighthearted pranks.

In addition to his wife, Ethel, he is survived by his two daughters, Eleena B. Rioux and Erika D. Rioux, both of Milford, and by his grandson, Garrett C. D. Olson of Milford. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place. There are no formal funeral services scheduled at this time.
