Mr. Dino DeBartolomeis, 74 of Milford
1952 - 2026

Born in Framingham, Massachusetts, Dino was the son of the late Donato DeBartolomeis and Elisa (Villani) DeBartolomeis.

He was educated in the Milford public school system and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1970. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester in 1974. Continuing his commitment to education, Dino later obtained three master’s degrees from Anna Maria College in Paxton—in business administration, counseling psychology, and public administration.

Dino began his career working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an administrator for the CETA Program. He later continued his public service with the Massachusetts Department of Rehabilitation, where he worked for many years before retiring in 2015 as an administrator.

Deeply proud of his Milford roots, Dino dedicated much of his life to serving the community. He first served as an elected member of the Milford School Committee before going on to serve an extraordinary 36 years as a member of the Milford Board of Selectmen.

Throughout his years of service, Dino also contributed to numerous local boards and committees, including the Louisa Lake Project, Milford Pond Project, Stacy School Renovation Committee, Woodland Elementary School Renovation Committee, Town Hall Re-Dedication Committee, and the Fruit Street Playground Renovation Committee. In addition, he served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Milford Geriatric Authority and on the Board of Directors for both the Milford Senior Center and the Friends of the Milford Senior Center.

Dino took great pride in his Italian heritage and culture. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, and later found comfort in watching classic western and cowboy television shows. He was also a devoted sports fan, following the New York Yankees, Boston Celtics, and New England Patriots. However, nothing brought him more satisfaction than participating in the many town meetings and committees he so faithfully served.

He is survived by his brother, John DeBartolomeis of Milford; his godmother, Pasqua DeSantis of Milford; and several cousins, including Louisa Giokas and her husband Constandinos “Charlie” Giokas of Milford, David Villani of Mendon, Justine Texiera of Bellingham, Elias Giokas and his wife Gina of Milford, Juliana Giokas of Milford, Giovanni Giokas of Milford, Anthony Giokas of Milford, Mattina Texiera of Bellingham, and Luciana Texiera of Bellingham.

The funeral will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 9:00 AM from Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford.
