1940 - 2025
Albert was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Antonio Recchia and the late Rose (Mazzone) Recchia. He attended the former Sacred Heart Grammar School and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1958, laying the foundation for a life rooted deeply in his hometown.
A proud veteran of the US Navy, Albert served from 1958 to 1960 as a machinist mate, a role that reflected both his technical skill and strong work ethic.
Albert built a long and steady career as a tool maker. He was first employed at the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale MA, followed by work at the former General Motors Assembly Plant in Framingham MA. He continued his trade at the former Volpe Tool & Die Company and then at Normac Corporation. After retiring from manufacturing, Albert remained active in the community, working for the Town of Milford at the Milford Transfer Station for several years.
In addition to his professional career, Albert gave back through public service, working as a Worcester County Sheriff for many years and also serving as a member of the Milford Citizens Police Patrol, further demonstrating his commitment to the Milford community.
Albert enjoyed a full and active life outside of work. He was a longtime member of the Maspenock Rod & Gun Club and loved spending time dancing with his longtime companion and their circle of friends. He also enjoyed going to the movies, browsing flea markets, attending car shows, and his morning coffee meetings with the gang at the Honey Dew Coffee Shop. Above all, his greatest joy came from attending the various sporting events of his grandchildren.
