1929 - 2026
Bucky was born October 30, 1929, to the late Robert and Mabel (Sharkey) Creighton, in Uxbridge. Besides his wife of sixty-one years, he leaves one son, Morgan Creighton and his wife Cheryl of Uxbridge; two sisters, Rosemary Marshall of Uxbridge and Ann Lowney of Blackstone; two grandchildren, Morgan and Allison; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Maureen Prior and John B. Creighton.
Bucky was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War, and was awarded a UN Service Medal and Korean Medal with two Bronze Service Stars. After returning from Korea, Bucky worked numerous demanding roles at Whitin Machine Works and Stanley Woolen Mill, and as a painter and wallpaper hanger. Upon earning a master’s degree in education from Worcester State University, he found his true calling as a teacher and worked at Uxbridge High School for 24 years, retiring in 1992.
A faithful parishioner of Saint Mary Church in Uxbridge, he taught CCD and called bingo games. Bucky had a group of lifelong friends that he worked with and met for breakfast every Wednesday during his long retirement. He was a member of the VFW Post 1385 & Charles A. Rice Post 33 American Legion of Uxbridge. In the summer, you could find Bucky on the Cape with family and friends, or hosting cookouts at his backyard pool. His two grandchildren, also of Uxbridge, were his pride and joy.
