Born on August 12th, 1961, in Zama, Japan, Maureen was the daughter of the late George and Elaine (Nunes) Lewis. She was raised in Middletown, Rhode Island, and later lived in Cumberland, Rhode Island, for many years before making Wrentham her home for the past four years.
Maureen graduated from Middletown High School before attending the College of the Holy Cross, where she earned a bachelor's degree in economics. She continued her education at Northeastern University, earning both an MBA from its business school and a Juris Doctor from its law school. She was admitted to practice law in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Throughout her legal career, Maureen worked for several law firms in Providence, Rhode Island. Her practice focused primarily on estate planning, including preparing wills and other legal documents, as well as handling probate matters.
Most recently, Maureen worked as a Philanthropic Advisor for ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Maureen embraced life and particularly enjoyed bringing people together. She loved planning events and gatherings for family and friends, traveling, attending family celebrations, meeting new people, and forming lasting friendships. Watching her grandchildren grow brought her tremendous happiness.
In addition to her husband, Michael, Maureen is survived by her children, William “Billy” Mallon and his wife, Mallory; Lauren Lewis; Nathan Schultz; and Zachary Schultz.
She also leaves her siblings, George Lewis, Dianne Catalano, Peter Lewis, Suzanne Hickman, and Karen Lewis; her two grandchildren, Emerson Mallon and Theo Mallon; and a large extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews, along with many cherished friends.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 24th, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street, Franklin.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 25th, at 10:00 PM at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin. The Mass will also be available via livestream through St. Mary’s Church.
Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
