Maureen Gallagher Ferrara, 88, of Hudson
1938 - 2026

Maureen Gallagher Ferrara, of Hudson and formerly of Framingham, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 17th, 2026. She was the loving wife of Richard E. Ferrara, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.

Proud of her Scottish roots, Maureen was born in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of the late John and Jean (Clarke) Gallagher. She was raised and educated in Scotland before coming to the United States in 1960, where she initially worked as a nanny.

In later years, Maureen worked as an administrative assistant for Bytex in Southborough, remaining there until her retirement.

Above all, Maureen’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured the time she spent with those closest to her and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She was also an avid gardener who found great pleasure in tending to her flowers.

In addition to her husband, Richard, Maureen is survived by her four children, Denise Ferrara of South Carolina; Lynn Chute and her husband, Bruce, of Northborough; Diane Ferrara Cappuccio of Westborough; and Gary Ferrara of Clinton.

She also leaves her brother, Thomas Gallagher of South Carolina, and her five grandchildren, Kaitlin Greenland and her husband, Brad; Erin Chute and her fiancé, Alex Wright; Megan Chute; Kyle Cappuccio; and Justin Cappuccio.

Maureen was predeceased by her siblings, Patricia Marsh, Michael Gallagher, and John Gallagher.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, August 22nd, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, located at 62 West Main Street in Westborough.

Her funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, located at 70 West Main Street in Westborough.

Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boston Children’s Hospital.
