
1924 - 2026
Mike dedicated more than 50 years of his life to his work as a grocer and meat cutter. He was the longtime owner of the former Beinema Market in Whitinsville and later retired in 1993 from the former Phillips Market, also in Whitinsville.
Born on March 22, 1924, in Whitinsville, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Foppema) Beinema. He was a graduate of Northbridge High School.
Mike proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army’s 100th Infantry Division, achieving the rank of Corporal. A devoted family man, he was also a lifelong member of Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church in Whitinsville.
He is survived by his three daughters: Sally Masnoon of Marlborough and her companion Bernard Tomaso; Verna Stone of Woodstock, Georgia and her companion Thomas Brennan; and Brenda Conlee of Ocala, Florida and her husband Gary. He also leaves behind five grandchildren—Scott Sibley, Emily Masnoon, Kimberly MacDonough, Brian Conlee, and Matthew Beinema—along with six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Lauren and Kiari Vincent, his devoted longtime caregivers Darlene Chesley Garcelon and Rebecca Blair, and his special longtime nurse, Lucy Gariepy.
Mike was predeceased by his son, Larry M. Beinema of Southbridge; his grandson, Amir Masnoon; and his two sisters, Jennie L. Jellesma and Jessie M. VanderZicht.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Buma Funeral Home, 480 Church Street, Whitinsville. Visiting hours will take place from 10:00–11:00 AM, prior to the service.
Burial will follow with military honors at the Beinema family lot in Riverdale Cemetery, Whitinsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Whitinsville Christian School at 279 Linwood Avenue in Whitinsville, MA.
