Marilyn Kraus Armstrong, 78, of Uxbridge
1947 - 2026

Born on March 11, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy (Sieden) Friedman. She shared her life with her beloved husband of 35 years, Garry H. Armstrong, whose steadfast love and partnership were a constant source of strength. Marilyn was a devoted mother to her son, Owen G. Kraus of Uxbridge, and a proud, loving grandmother to Kaitlin M. Kraus, who brought her immeasurable happiness. She also leaves behind her dear cousin, Roberta Goldberg.

A lifelong learner, Marilyn was a proud alumna of Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree. Her curiosity, intelligence, and love of learning shaped both her personal and professional life.

Marilyn expressed her creativity through many outlets. She was an accomplished author, best known for her book “The Twelve Foot Teepee.” She was also a skilled photographer, using her camera to capture beauty, meaning, and quiet moments that reflected her thoughtful view of the world. In addition, Marilyn connected with a global audience as the creator of the Serendipity blog, where her writing resonated with readers far beyond her immediate community.

Her personal joys were simple and heartfelt. She shared an unbreakable bond with Duke, her dog, who was her constant companion and a source of comfort. She also loved her birds, finding peace and joy in their presence.
