Born on December 1, 1952, in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Lial and Maria C. (Chaves) Luz.
Maria was a dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her life. She worked as an administrator at Hudson Lock before continuing her career at Kiddie-Fenwal and later Boston Scientific. She concluded her professional journey as a pharmacy technician at CVS, where she served for more than 20 years.
A devoted member of Saint Mary’s Church in Milford, Maria was also actively involved with the Portuguese Alliance. She found joy in traveling, dancing to Portuguese music, cooking, and spending time at the beach. Above all, she cherished her family and took great pride in caring for her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Rosalino Fraga Jr. and his wife Katie of Uxbridge, and Domingos Lial Martins Fraga of Milford; her sisters, Maria Alice Coston of Worcester and Ida Carey of Florida; and her five beloved grandchildren, Lukas Fraga, Sophia Resendes, Jake Resendes, Jack Fraga, and Isabella Fraga. She also leaves behind a large extended family who will cherish her memory.
Maria was predeceased by her daughter, Melinda Fraga; her daughter-in-law, Liz Fraga; her granddaughter, Juliet Fraga; and her in-laws, Domingos and Maria (Cacota) Fraga.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress Street, Milford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Saint Mary’s Church on Winter Street in Milford.
