1944 - 2026
Born on January 2, 1944, in Roxbury, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Josephine (MacIssac) Hunnefeld.
Peg spent most of her life in Somerville. She grew up in Roslindale and graduated from St. Joseph Academy. During her time at St. Joseph’s, she enjoyed serving as the scorekeeper for basketball games and famously avoided Latin classes whenever she could by singing in the choir—a passion she carried throughout her life.
Before retiring, Peg worked for ten years at Kmart in Somerville and previously spent six years at New England Telephone Company. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed spending evenings with her bowling league. After league nights, she often dined at the European Restaurant in Boston, where she met her husband, Joseph. Peg later shared her love of bowling with her children, frequently taking them to the local bowling alley near their home.
In addition to her husband Joseph, she is survived by her son, James Ferrazzani and his wife Staci of Sutton; her daughter, Lora Peddle and her husband Rob of Providence, Rhode Island; and her four grandchildren, Erica, Thomas, Julianna, and Joseph.
She is also survived by her brothers, Vinny Hunnefeld and his wife May of Natick, Charles Hunnefeld and his wife Sandy of San Antonio, Texas, and Henry Hunnefeld and his wife Angelica of Miami, Florida. She also leaves behind her brothers-in-law Lou Ferrazzani and his wife Helen of Reading, Paul Ferrazzani and his wife Barbara of Norwood, and Ronnie Ferrazzani and his wife Joyce of Methuen; her sister-in-law Anna Ferrazzani Greene and her husband Duane Greene of Montague; along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Peg was predeceased by her sister, Mary Smith, and brother-in-law, Tom Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, March 11, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street in Medway. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
