1960 - 2026
Born to Vincent Hawes and Margaret Mullane, Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Michael; her sister, Lesley Fucci; her daughter, Megan; her son-in-law, Roberto; and her two beloved grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and quickly became the center of her world.
A Type 1 diabetic for more than 50 years, Margaret faced lifelong health challenges with remarkable strength, resilience, and determination. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Assumption College and her master’s degree from Worcester State University before becoming the director of a home healthcare agency in Boston. Throughout her life, she refused to let adversity define her, instead focusing on the people and passions that brought her happiness — her family, faith, lifelong friendships, and creative pursuits.
Margaret was known for her extraordinary kindness, compassion, and grace. She had a rare ability to find beauty in the smallest moments and made every holiday feel magical. She celebrated the accomplishments of those she loved and made sure the people around her always felt valued and appreciated.
Her loyalty, humor, creativity, and joyful spirit will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to know her. Though she faced challenges many were told would limit her life, Margaret continued to live fully, embracing every moment and creating memories that will last for generations.
Her family will honor her legacy by continuing to appreciate the little things, showing kindness to others, and finding joy even during difficult days — just as Margaret always did.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
