Margaret F. "Margie" (Lynch) Joanis, 89, formerly of Uxbridge, passed away on July 7, 2026.
Born on January 22, 1937, in Malden, Massachusetts, Margie was the daughter of the late John and Barbara (Tucker) Lynch. She graduated from Medway High School, Class of 1954, and was lovingly raised by Joseph and Mae Julian of Medway.
Margie dedicated 38 years of her career to John Hancock Life Insurance Company in Boston. She later worked as a circulation collector for the Milford Daily News and was also employed by CVS.
A devoted member of Good Shepherd Church, Margie faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister, volunteered extensively, and was an active member of the Rosary Society. Her dedication to her faith was reflected in her remarkable ministry of handcrafting more than 55,000 rosaries for the Ministry of the Rosary for the Mission.
Margie is survived by her son, Paul E. Joanis Jr. and his wife Sue of Uxbridge; her daughters, Dorothy F. Joanis of Hollis, Maine, Laurie A. Joanis-Hughes and her husband John of Douglas, and Deborah L. Joanis of Sturbridge; her brother, Harold Lynch and his wife Pat of Medway; her sister, Bobbi Koch of South Berwick, Maine; eight grandchildren, Karla, Phillip, Jared, Justin, Kyle, Owen, Rylie, and Mark; 12 great-grandchildren, Colton, Everly, Emma, Olivia, Lucas, Liam, Tessa, Teagan, Skyler, Tristin, Ethan, and Makayla; one great-great-granddaughter, Nicole; and her son-in-law, Dennis Gendron.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Margaret M. Gendron.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 12th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Buma Funeral Home, located at 101 North Main Street (Route 122) in Uxbridge.
Additional visitation will be held Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at the St. Mary's Church.
Burial will follow at the St. Mary's Cemetery on Granite Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Margie's memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
