1941 - 2025
Marcia was a woman whose life centered on faith, family, and connection. She was a devout practicing Catholic and held close relationships with her family, friends, and neighbors. She found joy in classic Rock & Roll from the 50’s and 60’s and loved watching classic movies, interests that brought her comfort and happiness throughout her life.
Professionally, Marcia worked as a secretary and took pride in her career. In the 1960’s Marcia was employed by the Stylon Corporation in Milford, Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT, and Natick Labs. She later continued her career at Water’s Associates during the 1970’s and 1980’s, where she was known as a dedicated and reliable employee.
Marcia is survived by her husband Joe of sixty-one years, whom she married on Thanksgiving Day in 1964. She also leaves behind two sons, Joseph Sweet Jr. of Hopedale and Steven Sweet (Joyce) of Milford, along with two grandchildren, Steven and Nicole Sweet, who brought her great pride and joy. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Manguso of Northbridge.
She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Manguso, and shared a very close bond with her mother- and father-in-law, June and Reggie Sweet of Hopedale. Marcia was also lovingly cared for by her aunt May and uncle Salvatore Ferrigno of Milford, and her cousin Bennie Ferrigno and his wife Helen.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 8:30–9:30 a.m. at the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 5 East Main Street, Milford. Burial will follow at Hopedale Village Cemetery in Hopedale.
