Loreen A. (LaChapelle) Tavano, 79, of Milford
1946 - 2025

Born in Milford, Loreen was the daughter of the late Lawrence L. LaChapelle and Eileen (Nealon) LaChapelle. She attended St. Mary’s Grammar School and was a 1964 graduate of St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School, where she was an active member of both the Glee Club and Drill Team.

Loreen began her career at the U.S. Army Natick Laboratories, where she worked in the Procurement Office for several years before dedicating herself to raising her family. A lifelong Milford resident, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church.

Loreen’s life was filled with love, laughter, and a sense of joy that she shared with everyone she met. She enjoyed playing Scrabble and Words With Friends, going on shopping trips, catching a movie, visiting casinos, and traveling with her husband Dennis. Above all, she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren, whom she considered her greatest gift.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Tavano; her children, Paul Tavano and his wife Linda of Milford, and Lynn Normandin and her husband Derek of Uxbridge; and her six beloved grandchildren: Ryan Normandin and his wife Katie of Newton, Kyle Normandin of Uxbridge, Tyler Normandin of St. Petersburg, FL, Cody Normandin and his fiancée Molly Perry of Millbury, Dylan Tavano of Milford, and Kallie Tavano of Milford. She also leaves behind her sisters, Eileen A. LaChapelle and Mary Jean Fostin, both of Milford; her brother, James LaChapelle and his wife Mary of Mendon; her niece and goddaughter, Jenna Martinese and her husband Chris of Ashby; and many dear friends and extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 16, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford. A private funeral and committal service will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Milford. There are no visiting hours.
