Linda Gail Arkow, 80, of Holliston
1946 - 2026

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Linda was the daughter of the late Herman and Belle (Shauer) Arkow. She was a graduate of Hunter College and SUNY Buffalo. Linda lived in Holliston for more than 45 years before later residing in assisted living and memory care communities in Boston and Dedham.

Linda dedicated her professional life to helping others as a licensed independent therapist, operating a private practice from her home for more than 35 years, primarily serving adolescents. She found deep purpose in supporting her clients and was widely respected for her compassion, empathy, and commitment to her community.

A passionate advocate for social justice, Linda was actively involved with the Holliston Democratic Town Committee and cared deeply about causes that reflected fairness, dignity, and compassion for others.

Outside of her work, Linda treasured time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She loved playing games, listening to folk music, singing, and gathering with family and friends over meals. Her home was filled with photographs of the people she loved most, including a cork wall covered in family memories.

Linda also had a creative spirit and enjoyed photographing clouds, even exhibiting her work in a local gallery. She had a thoughtful nature, always remembering birthdays and sending cards to loved ones. She loved traveling and explored many destinations throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Linda is survived by her two children, Audra Karp and her spouse Deb Albenberg of Roslindale, and Isadora Howard-Karp and her spouse Marisa of Dedham. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Emmett, Lucy, Ila, Evelyn, Isabell, and Hazaiah.

She was predeceased by her sister, Judee Arkow, and her former spouse, William “Bill” Karp.

Linda will be remembered for her compassion, intelligence, creativity, and unwavering love for her family and community.
