1930 - 2026
Born in Milford on August 10, 1930, Lawrie was the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Wilson) Bemis.
A lifelong resident of Medway, Lawrie graduated from the former Brandeis Vocational High School in Boston. He proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard for eight years.
Prior to his retirement, Lawrie worked for the Medway Housing Authority and had previously been employed at the former Dow Chemical in Natick. He also co-owned a flooring business for many years with his brother Harold.
In his spare time, Lawrie enjoyed restoring antiques, a hobby that reflected his patience and craftsmanship.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his niece Diane Booher and her husband Mark, along with many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings John, Madeline, Dorothy, and Harold.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to his dedicated caregiver and homemaker, Tricia Dixon, for her exceptional care and support.
At the request of the family, services will be held privately, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Medway.
Expressions of sympathy in Lawrie’s memory may be made to The Salvation Army on 29 Congress Street in Milford.
