Born in Milford on June 24, 1953, Ken was the son of the late Robert I. and Emilia (Krizko) Dean. A proud graduate of Franklin High School’s Class of 1971, Ken dedicated much of his life to serving the Franklin community in many meaningful ways.
Throughout his career, Ken worked as a deliveryman for Bullukian Oil Company, served with the Franklin Department of Public Works, and later became a dispatcher for the Franklin Fire Department. In his earlier years, he was also a member of the Franklin Call Fire Department, a role that reflected his lifelong commitment to community service and teamwork.
Beyond his work, Ken had a deep passion for motorcycles and a love for classic television shows, simple joys that brought him comfort and connection throughout his life. He was known for his easygoing nature, his dedication to family, and his quiet generosity toward others.
Ken is survived by his sisters, Barbara Dean of Fairhaven, Janet Bederian of Franklin, and Marcia McAuley and her husband Jack of Stoughton. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Dean and brother-in-law Larry Bederian. He also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
In accordance with his wishes, funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Franklin Food Pantry or the Franklin Senior Center, two organizations that reflect his lifelong connection to the community he proudly called home.
Arrangements are under the care of the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
Ken will be remembered as a dedicated public servant, a loyal brother, and a kindhearted man whose quiet presence made Franklin a better place.
