1957 - 2026
Born on June 19th, 1957, in Grafton, Kathy graduated from Framingham State University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She began her career as a medical technologist at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, where she worked for 11 years before stepping away to focus on raising her family.
Kathy married her husband and best friend, David, in 1982. During their 44 years together, they raised their two children, Joseph and Elizabeth. Kathy was a deeply caring, dependable and supportive wife and mother who encouraged each member of her family to be themselves.
While raising her children, Kathy devoted considerable time and energy to her community. She served as a Girl Scout town leader in Hopkinton for 11 years and directed the Christmas Pageant at St. Mary’s Parish in Holliston for 15 years. After her children were grown, Kathy returned to work part-time, spending nine years as the front-desk administrator at Kids-on-the-Common Pediatric Practice in Grafton. The practice became a second family to her, and she especially loved seeing the steady stream of infants and toddlers who came through its doors.
Kathy also oversaw the construction of the Hopkinton home where her family lived for 40 years. She enjoyed traveling, including family trips to Japan, Italy, Germany and more than a dozen other countries with her husband. Among her most treasured memories were the family’s annual vacations on Cape Cod and in Maine.
An avid quilter, Kathy loved creating pieces to give to family and friends. She also treasured time spent in her glass-surrounded sunroom, where she could enjoy views of the outdoors from the comfort of her favorite place.
Kathy is survived by her husband, David; her son, Joseph; her daughter, Elizabeth; her mother, Eleanor Hussey; her brother, Thomas Hussey; and her sister, Patricia Connor.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton, located at 57 Hayden Rowe Street.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 5th, at 9:00 AM at St. Mary’s Parish in Holliston. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathleen Gamache’s memory to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research at 504 RXR Plaza located at Uniondale in New York.
