Josh graduated from Medway High School in 2007 and began his working career in the food service industry. He was employed at Medway Country Manor, The 99, and Friendly’s restaurants in Milford before continuing on to work at Stop & Shop. Most recently, Josh was employed as a driver in the food delivery industry.
Josh enjoyed cooking and baking, discovering new restaurants, and watching and discussing Boston sports teams. He loved taking walks with his dog and treasured the many happy moments he shared with his nephew, Benny, and niece, Teagan.
Josh will be remembered as a deeply kind and compassionate person who was always willing to help friends in need. He had a lifelong love for animals, especially his beloved dog and constant companion, Shabba.
Josh is survived by his father and stepmother, Walter “Wally” and Ginger Wasnewsky of Medway; his mother, Karen Lyons, and her husband, Stephan Maywalt, of Arizona; and his grandmother, Helena “Mimi” Wasnewsky of Franklin. He also leaves behind his brother, Ryan Wasnewsky, and his wife, Kara, of Mendon; his sister, Jill Pepin, and her husband, Bill, of Bellingham; and his stepsisters, Christine Parent and her husband, Ryan, of Medway, Elizabeth Whiting and her husband, Zack, of Attleboro, and Madeleine Verdolino of Medway.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Bennett and Teagan Pepin; Joey and Hannah Wasnewsky; Zoey and Mallory Whiting; and Natalie Parent, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Friday, January 16, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village Street in Medway. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
