Joshua M. Paulson, 52, of Upton
1974 - 2026

Born on February 27th, 1974, in Upton, Josh was homeschooled before earning his GED. A gifted self-taught computer expert, he began his career at just 18 years old with GeoTel, where he helped develop a computer routing application. When Cisco Systems acquired GeoTel, Josh was offered a position as a computer engineer to continue supporting the routing application. Despite enduring numerous heart surgeries, the loss of a leg, and the loss of an eye, he remained dedicated to his work and most recently served as a computer engineer for Flagstar Bank until his passing.

Josh embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. He enjoyed off-roading in his Jeep and Hummer, deer hunting, and target shooting. His love of photography and astronomy took him around the world as he traveled to witness eclipses, comets, and other celestial events. Among his favorite adventures were seeing the Transit of Venus across the sun, visiting the Arctic Circle, exploring temples in Korea and Central America, touring castles in Ireland, and whale watching off the coast of Maui.

He is survived by his parents, Kristin and Kenneth Paulson; his brothers, Aric and Nickilas Paulson of Upton; his sisters, Heather Luce-Garrepy and Tonya Luce; his nieces, Loretta Mari, Aliza Luce, and Sophia Garrepy; his nephews, Liam Meyer and Lars Paulson; his great-nephew, Tristan Douglass; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, neighbors, and friends.
