1952 - 2026
Born in Everett on September 28, 1952, he was the son of the late John A. and Lena L. (Trigilio) Gulla. Joseph was raised in Malden and later lived in Sharon and Ayer before moving to Whitinsville two years ago.
He was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston, where he majored in psychiatry with a minor in mathematics. Joseph worked professionally as a Database Administrator for the Bank of New York Mellon.
Joe found great joy in life’s everyday moments. He loved bringing his beloved dog, Millie, to the dog park and taking his grandson Nolan out for breakfast at Jumbo Donuts. He enjoyed cooking Italian food and was passionate about history and philosophy. He was always eager to discuss current events and politics and valued thoughtful conversation. Most of all, he treasured time spent with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons.
He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Tuffo and her husband Anthony of Franklin; his brother, James Gulla of Chelsea; and his grandsons, Luke Joseph and Nolan Anthony Tuffo.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street, Franklin. Burial will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Sharon.
