In addition to his beloved wife, Frances, Joe is survived by his son, Paul Mandile and his wife Lisa of Milford; his daughter, Janette Harper of South Grafton; his cherished grandchildren, Jake, Aiden, and Bella; his loving sisters, Jeanne, Virginia, Patricia, and Mary-Lou; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, John Edward Mandile.
Born and raised in Newton, Joe was the son of the late Joseph A. Mandile Sr. and Genevieve (Dowda) Mandile. He proudly served four years in the United States Navy, stationed in Newport, Rhode Island, where he served his country while learning the electrical trade.
Joe devoted 42 years of his career as a Master Electrician with Avery Dennison. Respected by coworkers as one of the best in his field, he became the person family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues turned to whenever something needed fixing. He generously shared his time, skills, and knowledge, always willing to help without expecting anything in return.
Joe appreciated life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing, tying flies, working on puzzles, playing horseshoes with friends, and taking apart mechanical items simply to understand how they worked. A gifted storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor, he had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and leave them smiling. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Ashland, where he formed many lasting friendships while enjoying billiards.
Above all else, Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man. His love was shown through quiet acts of service, unwavering support, and a willingness to always be there when someone needed him. His steady presence, generous heart, and selfless nature will be remembered by all who knew him.
In accordance with Joe's wishes, a private ceremony will be held by his immediate family at the Lakeview Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
