1939 - 2026
Born in Castelo, Portugal, Jose immigrated to Milford in 1974. He worked for Fafard Construction as a laborer until the company closed and later continued his career at Waters Corporation, where he remained until retiring in 2004.
Jose enjoyed spending his free time hunting and fishing. He also cherished returning to his hometown in Portugal to attend local festivals, often proudly accompanying the religious processions. He loved watching fireworks and was equally happy setting off a few of his own. Jose was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Milford.
In addition to his wife, Fernanda, he is survived by his children: Emidio Ferreira of Northbridge; David Ferreira and his wife Danielle of Sutton; John Paul “JP” Ferreira and his wife Alysha of Hopedale; Maria “Tilly” DaSilva and her husband Joaquim of Bellingham; Solina Reardon and her husband Jim of Uxbridge; and Marlene Ferreira of Blackstone.
He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his brother Julino Ferreira of Portugal, and his sisters Celeste Fraga and Olga Fernandes, both of Milford.
Jose was predeceased by his parents, Manuel and Amelia Ferreira, and his sister, Gilberta Rodrigues.
