He was the beloved son of the late William and Edna E. (Quick) Hollister and the devoted husband of the late Frances E. (Wentzell) Hollister. Ed is survived by his daughter, Kimberly A. Hollister of Milford, who was the center of his world. He also leaves behind his brothers Ronnie, Chuck, and Cecil Hollister of Florida, and Butch Hollister of Washington, along with his sisters Joyce Chaston and her husband William of Cape Cod, and Jackie Umberger. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, David Hollister.
Ed dedicated much of his career to retail, working for 25 years at the former Jordan Marsh Department Store in Framingham and later at Filene’s before retiring. He also spent time working as a school bus driver, continuing his commitment to serving others.
A man of strong faith and fellowship, Ed was an active member of the Montgomery Lodge of Masons AF&AM in Milford and the United Methodist Church of Milford. He was also a passionate Red Sox fan, enjoyed road trips throughout New England, and cherished summer visits with friends in Hull. His loyal companion, his dog Shadow, was always by his side.
A Masonic Ritual will be held at 3:30 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress Street, Milford.
Visiting hours will follow from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
