John “Ooby” Klockowski, 70, of Uxbridge
1955 - 2026

He is survived by his daughter, Lianne Kanani MacDonald of North Uxbridge; his son, Adam Gaskin and his girlfriend Jordan of Uxbridge; his grandson, Daven Kloczkowski Aguiar of Raleigh, North Carolina; and his sister, Anne M. Mangano and her husband Joseph Mangano of North Andover, along with many cousins.

John was born on October 1, 1955 in Whitinsville to Germaine T. (Brochu) and Stanley F. Kloczkowski. He attended Good Shepherd schools and later graduated from Blackstone Valley Tech in 1974. He briefly attended Berklee College of Music before pursuing his passion for music full-time.

John joined the show band “The Hawaiian Gas Company,” traveling across the country before settling in Hawai’i. After returning to Massachusetts, he worked as a school bus driver and with Worcester County Rentals, eventually spending most of his career at Braman Chemical as a pest control specialist.

Music remained a constant throughout his life. John continued performing for decades, playing drums for various bands and spending summers performing at Hampton Beach. He was also an avid railroad enthusiast who enjoyed photographing trains and nature.

Above all, John cherished time with his family. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandson, often teaching them to fish at their summer lake house.

There will be no service or viewing. A celebration of life will be held on April 12, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Uxbridge VFW.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, 11400 Rockville Pike, Suite 200, Rockville, MD 20852 ([email protected]).
