1938 - 2026
Born in British Hong Kong, Jenny was the daughter of the late Dr. Tsuan Chi and Huen Yuk Lo. She was raised and educated in Hong Kong before graduating from Tunghai University. She shared 62 loving years of marriage with her husband, Raymond C. Shih.
Jenny enjoyed a distinguished career as a librarian, serving as Chief Librarian at the Queens Borough Public Library, Temple University, and later at Quinsigamond Community College, where she retired after years of dedicated service.
Those who knew Jenny often described her life through what mattered most to her: family, friends, flowers, food, and fun. She cherished gathering around the dinner table, where meals were filled with laughter, conversation, and love. Her warmth and joyful personality made every gathering memorable.
Following her retirement, Jenny embraced ballroom dancing with enthusiasm. She spent countless hours taking lessons at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Worcester and took great pride in designing her own elegant ballroom gowns. Dancing became one of her greatest passions and reflected the energy and joy with which she lived her life.
In addition to her husband, Raymond, Jenny is survived by her daughter, Linda Shih of Dracut; her son, Clayton Shih of Quincy; her brother, Arthur Chi of Quincy; and her sister, Elsa Karlsmark of Denmark.
She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Chi.
Jenny will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her love of family and friendship, her lifelong dedication to learning, and the warmth and kindness she shared with everyone around her.
