Born in Milford on December 24, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Hilda (Rollins) Jewer.
Hildegarde was a lifelong resident of Medway. She graduated from Medway High School in 1960 and went on to earn her nursing degree from the Framingham Hospital School of Nursing.
She later worked for many years as a salesperson at Macy’s Department Store, where she was known for her dedication and friendly nature.
Family was at the center of Hildegarde’s life. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren and her beloved dog, Nikki.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Cynthia DeJoie and her husband Dave of Medway; her sons, Timothy Flood and his companion Meghan Portmann of Franklin, and Thomas Flood Jr. of Medway; her five grandchildren, Nicholas DeJoie and his wife Kelsey, Lauren DeJoie, Andrew DeJoie, Trent Flood, and Tyler Flood; and her two great-grandchildren, Lila and Vivienne DeJoie.
She is also survived by her sisters, Joan Griffin of Windham, New Hampshire, and Kathy Jean of Waco, Texas.
Hildegarde was predeceased by her sister, Beverly Watson.
At the request of her family, graveside services will be held privately at Evergreen Cemetery in Medway.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Ginley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street, Medway.
