For many years, Helen was employed at Waters Associates located in Milford MA, where she was known as a dependable and dedicated worker. Following her retirement, she embraced an active and social lifestyle, enjoying time spent with friends and community members.
Helen was an active member of the Milford Senior Center and a member of the Red Hat Society, where she delighted in fellowship, laughter, and shared experiences. She had a deep love of travel and especially treasured her many trips to Cape Cod, which brought her great joy and relaxation.
Helen is survived by her son: Dean Schwenker and his wife Hope of Montrose Colorado. She was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought happiness and meaning to her life. She is also survived by her brother: Henry Marcolini of Milford MA, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Dawn Schwenker who died in 2013, and was predeceased by many siblings, including the late Joseph Marcolini; the late Angelo Marcolini; the late Theresa Dragone; the late Mary Marcolini; the late Lena Renaud; and the late William Marcolini. Helen was also the longtime companion of the late Kenneth Marino, with whom she shared many years.
In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. A Private Graveside Committal Service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Bellingham MA at the convenience of the family. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Epilepsy Foundation of New England, honoring Helen’s memory and compassion for others.
