1948 - 2026
Born in Martinez, California, he was the son of the late George and Emma “Georgianna” (Stephens) Jordan and was raised and educated in Jacksonville, Florida.
After high school, George proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Much of his service was spent assigned to the Marine Detachment aboard the USS Forrestal (CVA-59).
In his younger years, George loved fishing and dreamed of living on the water — a dream he later fulfilled with his wife Debbie. Together, they spent more than a decade living aboard their boat, Quixotic, in Solomons, Maryland, along the Chesapeake Bay. The ocean remained a constant and meaningful part of his life.
George treasured time with family and friends and was known for his quick wit, playful spirit, and warm personality. He always had a joke to tell and a laugh to share, and his generous heart and welcoming nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
In addition to his beloved wife Debbie, he is survived by his children, Joshua Jordan of Salem, New Hampshire; Zachery Jordan and his wife Alessia Cherici of Ambler, Pennsylvania; and Cassie Pearsall and her husband Jeffrey of Upton. He also leaves his stepchildren, Mark LaRose and his wife ChangMi of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, and Matthew LaRose of Upton.
He was a proud grandfather to Samatha LaPointe, Seth Jordan, Nicholas Pearsall, and Noah Pearsall, and a great-grandfather to Rayne Younker and Bennett Younker. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Russo of Jacksonville, Florida, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and his former wives, Joyce Jordan and Donna Jordan.
George was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Tabitha Jordan; his step-granddaughters Hannah LaRose and Nora LaRose; and his siblings Shirley Faro and Gene Jordan.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 4, at the Nipmuc Rod & Gun Club, 88 Fiske Mill Road, Upton. Military honors will be rendered at 2:30 P.M., followed by a moment of reflection and prayer.
In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory may be made to the Upton Fire & EMS Association Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 1012, Upton, MA 01568, or to MetroWest Hospice, 33 Boston Post Road West, Suite 120, Marlborough, MA 01752.
