Evelyn Ernestine (Merrill) Desper, 83, of FranklinFranklin

1942 - 2025
Born in Plymouth, New Hampshire, on August 26, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Geneva (Sprague) Merrill. Evelyn was raised in Norwood and had been a proud resident of Franklin since 1962.
Evelyn dedicated 30 years of service as an attendant at the Wrentham Developmental Center, where she was known for her compassion and care for others. Outside of work, she loved gardening and took great joy in tending to her plants and flowers, which brought beauty and peace to her life.
She is survived by her children: John Desper, Paul Desper, Ben Desper, and Darleen Parks. She was also the loving mother of the late Anthony Desper.
Evelyn is survived by her siblings David Merrill of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and Eleanor Merrill of North Attleboro. She was predeceased by her siblings Loretta, Linda, Susan, Richard, Robert, Raymond, and Ernest.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren — John, Dylan, Paul, Christopher, and Heather — and her great-grandchildren Jayce and Scarlett, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (ginleyfuneralhomes.com), 131 Main Street, Franklin.
