Eudoxia “Dixie” Carchio, 95, of Hopedale
June 3, 1930 - October 4, 2025

Born and raised in Uxbridge, MA, Dixie was the daughter of the late Angelo G. Kottis and Mary (Thasullas) Kottis. A longtime resident of Hopedale, she was a licensed real estate broker and also assisted in her family’s business in electrical contracting and real estate development. Dixie was active in local, state, and national politics for many years, serving as a state committee woman and a state delegate for the 1972 presidential election. In 1985, she was honored to attend the inauguration of President Ronald Reagan.

A devoted member of the Hopedale Union Evangelical Church, Dixie sang in the choir and frequently performed lead roles in church musical productions. Her home was always filled with warmth, the aroma of her home cooking, and the laughter of family and friends. She loved hosting gatherings filled with music, celebration, and joy.

Dixie was a woman of strong work ethic, great wisdom, and boundless spirit. She cherished her family deeply, supporting her children in all their endeavors—whether at cheerleading events or listening to her sons’ rock bands practice in the basement. She found joy in time spent with loved ones in Hopedale, Onset, and Fort Lauderdale, always living by her own uplifting words: “All is well” and “Every day is a good day.” Her kindness, optimism, and energy touched all who knew her, including her caregivers, who adored her radiant spirit.

She is survived by her three children: David Carchio and his wife Lynne of Mendon, MA; Dyan Harpest and her husband Robert of Parkland, FL; and Paul Carchio of Hopedale. She also leaves her grandchildren: Lindsey and her husband Francisco Silvestri; Cara Harpest; Christie Harpest; Alex Carchio; and Cody Carchio; her great-granddaughter Alina Silvestri; her brother Gregory Kottis of Randolph, MA; her sister-in-law Carol MacWilliam of Milford; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her brother Attorney John Kottis and sister Anna Kottis.
