1947 - 2026
Libby was the daughter of the late Raymond Yorgovan and Elizabeth Milanov Yorgovan White. A proud Cincinnati native, she enjoyed a happy childhood and was known throughout her life for her intelligence, curiosity, grace, and wonderful sense of humor.
She graduated from Seton High School and earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from College of Mount St. Joseph. After beginning her career as an elementary school teacher, she later earned a degree in economics and went on to serve as a budget analyst with the United States Air Force until her retirement.
As the wife of an Air Force officer, Libby embraced the challenges of military life with remarkable strength and grace. Through deployments, frequent relocations, and raising a family while far from home, she created a loving and stable environment wherever life took them. She especially treasured the years her family spent living in Worfelden, Germany, and fondly remembered traveling throughout Europe, with London, Paris, Salzburg, and Florence among her favorite destinations.
Libby is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Michael Mason of Milford; her daughters, Michele Mason Champagne and her husband, Dale, of Milford, and Kate Mason and her husband, Jeffrey Kustes, of Boston; and her beloved granddaughters, Olivia Champagne and Emily Champagne of Boston.
She also leaves behind her brother, John Yorgovan and his partner, Deborah Asbrock; her sister-in-law, Louise Rose; her brothers-in-law, Henry Mason and his wife, Carmen, and Brian Mason and his wife, Susan; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, longtime friends, and extended family members. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Philip Rose.
Elegant, compassionate, and always impeccably put together, Libby will be remembered for the dignity, kindness, and warmth she brought to every stage of her life. Her family also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers of MetroWest Hospice for allowing her to spend her final days peacefully at home, surrounded by those she loved.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 7th, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home (44 Congress Street, Milford).
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (7 East Main Street, Milford).
A private interment will be held on Monday, August 10th, at 1:00 PM at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
