Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Norman Lovely and Claudette (Dupre) Alfego. Elise was raised and educated in Worcester and was a graduate of Burncoat High School. She later earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Special Education from Fitchburg State University.
Elise enjoyed an active and vibrant social life and could often be found country line dancing or spending time outdoors. She loved hiking, relaxing at the beach, going to the gym, and sharing her passion for healthy living. Above all, Elise cherished the time she spent with her children, family, and friends. She was also a devoted member of Grace Church in Hudson.
She is survived by her beloved children, Hannah and Matthew Wagner, both raised in Northborough; her cousin, Robin Jewell of Auburn; and her former husband and dear friend, James Wagner of Nashville, Tennessee.
Elise was predeceased by her father, Norman Lovely; her mother, Claudette (Dupre) Alfego; and her brothers, Peter and Paul Lovely.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church, 353 River Road, Hudson. A collation and time of greeting will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Elise’s memory may be made to Grace Church in Hudson.
